I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I am completely new to VMware and I was wondering if anyone had a link or a guide on re-installing version 2.5.4. Right now it has version 2.5.4 on it but I would like to wipe everything and do a complete reinstallation of the software.
Thank you.

This guide might be quicker:
Here's the link to the install guide for 2.x
Just out of curiosity, does anyone have a short/simple guide? If not I'll stick with the actual one that Mr-T linked me to.
This guide might be quicker:
One last question. When I do the installation do I need any CD's or files? Other than the ones from http://www.vmware.com/download/esx (esx2.5.4 ISO CD).
The CD will be sufficient for the install. Patches are here:
http://www.vmware.com/download/esx/esx2_patches.html#c4317
Not sure if this will apply, but when you do the install you'll have the option to preserve existing VMFS partitions which may speed things up for you in terms of getting for VMs back online. A backup of any existing VMFS partitions should be done even if you pick the option. Also, if you hadn't already planned on it, you'll want to change the default partitions that the install creates. The RTFM guide has some guidelines for this.
All you need is the CD for ESX 2.5.4
Once the installation is complete, I suggest you download the patches and apply those.
Otherwise no other CD's are required.
For installing with the ISO CD at the link I gave out in my last post, is that in one of the VMware installation links you gave me Mr-T?
Can anyone let me know if the guides that Mr-T posted contain the method to installing esx 2.5.4. using the ISO?
Thank you.
The install process will be the same whether it is the 2.5.0 / 2.5.3 or 2.5.4 CD image that you use. Each CD is a complete install on its own.
