Reimporting Templates in Virtual Center 2.0 (VC 2.0)

Hi guys,

I recently upgraded to VC 2.0.1 Patch 2 and it totally blew away all my clusters and resource pools (fantastic).

I managed to recreate these without much difficultly.

However I have also lost the templates I have created. I can see that the vmtx / vmdk files still reside on the datastore.

How do I reimport these templates back into Virtual Center 2.0?

Thanks

Jared

In VI Client:

Right click on your datastore, where your templates are on, then browse. When you're on the vmtx-file, right click, Add to inventory.

I had this same issue. However, we couldn't import out templates back. They registered but were undeployable. We had to clone the vmdk's using vmkfstools and recreate the VMs and relink the vmdks.

This patch 2 is faster but pretty crappy.
