Reconnect host failed

Hi all,

I tried reconnecting the ESXi 4.1 host but it failed with the following error :

Cannot contact specified host (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx). The host may not be available on the network, a network configuration problem may exist, or the management servoces on this host may not be responding.

What is the workaround for this issue?

Can you confirm DNS resolves properly?

It may also be worth a try to restart the management agents on the host.

I tried the same but the problem still persists. Any reason behind it or what alternatives can I check?

Can you ping both the IP and the FQDN of the ESXi Host from vCenter , and can you ping the IP and FQDN of vCenter from the ESXi Host ?
