Recent Tasks Pane shows failed recent tasks from 14th May

I unsuccessfully tried to remediate a number of blades nearly 3 weeks ago on the 14th May and then again on 26th May. The tasks failed at the time. They are still showing as being cancelled by the user in the recent tasks window under status column.

Is it possible to purge this detail from the recent tasks window.

Restart the virtual center service. It's annoying, but it works.
