Rebooting vCenter for Windows updates

When you restart vCenter, do you just reboot it, or do you check for any tasks running first?

I've been thinking about making it automatically reboot after Windows updates at 7am or something.

Only once was it performing a sVmotion when it was rebooted, so it left a duplicate VM on a datastore. It could also impact backup software using snapshots if it was rebooted during the backup window.

Let me know what you do.

As a best practice, It is suggested to plan for manual reboot for vcenter.

Mentioned, if there are any task on the vcenter those will cancelled.

I suggested, that remove all the connected session to vcenter.

stop the vcenter services and reboot the server.

once its back verify the same.
