RDM with data showing up in new vm as empty ntfs volume ?

Hello all,

I am migrating a physical server with platespin c: disk ntfs vmdk went ok

I have created a helper vm for the d: disk ntfs and robocopy the data to a RDM

Now i have the new virtual machine with the C and D (RDM) partitions.

But the D disk with data shows up as emtpy no partition on it ? (rescan disks won't help)

If i remove the RDM and attache it to the helper vm the data still exists on the RDM disk ?

and if i connect it to the new vm it is again empty with no partition on it ?

Please i really need help on this one

because i am migrating 2 of these server right now... Smiley Sad

well oke fixed it myself :smileylaugh:

you have to go to disk management

mark partition as active

change drive letter or path

reboot

and the disk / partition shows itself
