VMware bought Legato AAM (Automated Availability Manager) technology for the VMware HA code. When you turn on HA, it should enable AAM ports within the security profile.

The EMC AAM Client is used by FastSCP.

The aam is used by VMware HA.

Any reason why it's called EMC AAM Client, if it's used by a different application? What is the EMC AAM client actually?
