  • 1.  Questions about Update Manager and scheduling

    Posted Jul 22, 2009 01:32 PM

Hi, its been a while since I worked with VC so please bear with me.

Last time I used VC 2.0.2, I do remember that it was possible to set up scheduling for remediation on a reoccuring basis, ie once a week. I can not find this in VC 2.5 U4, just an option to create a single remediation either now or once in the future. I know that scanning is easy to set up for reoccuring events, but that is not the question.

I was hoping that I could use Updage Manager to scan and then remediate ie once a month automatically, so I don't have to set up this task manually in VC every time I need to update the VM's.

You can use this VUM Admin guide and on page #22 -27 you can schedule scan and remediation process so check it out for details https://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_vum_10_admin_guide.pdf

Well I do have read the manual, but I have no option for setteing a reoccuring remidiation task, only for scanning task....

Example: This is how it looks now when I create a remediate task:

As you see, no option for creating reoccuring tasks.

    Example for the scanning part:

    Why??
