Hi all,
i am reading and reading but i can´t find the infos i am seeking for. In vcenter we can set in the settings of a vmachine the reservations.
for example: a domaincontroller has set the RAM to 1024 MB . So now additionaly i can set the reservation to x...for example to 512 MB.
For what do i need that? When will it be used?
Please can you give me a small advice?
thank you
bye
Andreas
it will be used when host will run out of memory. then this specific vm will have 512 RAM reserved just for it, and it will not share its memory with other vms. It means, that this vm will not have to fight for this 512MB of memory with other vms if host runs out of memory.

There is a lot of information about how to manage resources. Please visit: and scroll down. You probably will find reservation information in the Resource Management Guide
