Problem with License Server Settings

Hi,

I seem to be having serious issues with Licensing at the moment so I'd appreciate some help if possible.

I received my licenses from VMWARE a couple of weeks ago for vCenter & two ESX Servers. I added the licenses successfully & I had vCenter & both ESX working fine until yesterday evening.

Changes Made

- I need to add an ESXi Server to vCenter

- I received the license file from VMware and added the license file

- I was unable to add the ESXi server so I started to troubleshoot. The error I am getting is there is not enough licenses available.

So I decided to do the following:

- Selected the Administration menu

- Selected VirtualCenter Management Server Configuration

- I selected Evaluate VirtualCenter Server & selected ok

Now my problem is I cannot change this option back to 'Use License services on this VirtualCenter server. I now get the message 'There are not enough licenses installed to perform the operation'.

Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get vCenter out of evaluate mode for starters?

Also what is best practice for lic files.

I have 3 license files in the dir c:\Program Files\vmware\vmware license server\licenses\

Should I add all the licenses into one lic file?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Regards,

PM
