Please make sure SQL Server Agent service is running on the database server

Installation of a fresh VC 2.5 with correct DB permission

Updates for the To prepare a SQL Server database to work

with VirtualCenter Procedure on Page 68

The following text should appear in the "To prepare a SQL Server database to work

with VirtualCenter" procedure:

Make sure that the database user has the following permissions:

Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Make sure that the database login has either the

sysadmin server role or the . The db_owner role on the MSDB database is

required for installation and upgrade only. You can revoke this role after the

installation or upgrade process is complete.

Why do I get the following message, when installing VC 2.5

Please make sure SQL Server Agent service is running on the database server.

Is it a problem with the SQl 2005 Logging ? Full feature Bulk or Simple Logging

Not entirely sure what you're asking but the sql agent message is only an informational message. It will say that regardless of whether you have the sgl agent service started or stopped.

Hey there. I know this is a little bit of an old post but if others are having this trouble you might find my solution helpful. I upgraded some other things before upgrading vCenter and it looks like the SQL Agent is disabled in Services when doing so. I had to enable the SQL Agent Service in order to get things working again. Made a quick little blog post for you visual folks: http://danblee.com/please-make-sure-sql-server-agent-service-is-running-on-the-database-server/

Always a big thanks to the community in advance! Dan Lee
