I recently upgraded my infrastructure to vsphere 5 from 4.1u1.
During the upgrade I also created a storage drs group.
I then proceeded in migrated all the old machines to the new storage drs group.
I have a permission structure, and users can log an modify their machines.
So far so good.
Problems are starting to arise when new machines are created. The users can create a machine no problem, however when they try to change settings on a VM such as adding an additional CPU core they get an error that they do not have the System > Read permission.
I gave the READ Only role at VC level, and it worked, however I do not want to work this way, since it will give a complete view and of the configuration, and users can view machines that I don't want them to see.
Any ideas how to go about solving this?
