Performance chart at Resource Pool level

Hi,

I've created Resource pools and moved VMs into their appropriate pool.

I would like to get performance reports on all the VMs in a particular pool.

However when I click on the Performance chart at the resource pool level, it doesn't display any data.

Is this normal behavior?

Thanks.

Hi,

no, this is not normal behavior. When looking at the Performance chart of a Resource pool you should see the combined Resource usage of all VMs that are in the pool.

I don't know what could cause such behavior and suggest that you file a support request with VMware.

Hi,

Have you got any response from VMware for this issue.

I am also trying to get the performance data at the resource pool level through the VC. I am using the perl toolkit to get my things done. In my case the VC is crashing when i query for the resource pool performance parameters.

Shalini

Is there a solution to this issue yet? I am also having this same issue. 1 of my resource pools shows all data and the other are not displaying Memory or Default.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi,

"mem.usage" counter is not a valid counter for Resource Pool. This is planned to be remove it in our future releases and the documentation would be updated accordingly. For deatils information on Performance counters, as which counter is available for which Entity, please refer our tech-note available at

Exact,

go to virtual center management server configuration >statistics

change de value to level 2

then in the resource pool, select the performance chart > select Memory and select all but remove"memory usage".

Save as with the name with you want.

Ready to see the charts!.

regards
