Patching an Virtual Center Server

Hi @all,

what is the Best Practice for patching the Virtual Center host machine. I think on updates like SQL oder .Net Framework. Is it uncritical to install all these MS patches or may be there are conflicts with the VC installation. What is your proceeding?

Hi,

we have to VC machines. We patch them both with all important and critical Microsoft updates every month. Until now we had now problems with these updates.

We're running an older version of SQL so we dont' see many sql patches for our version anymore. As for windows patches, we really only do critical and security patches and that seems to work out fine. When patching, it is up to you and how your company patches your servers on a regular basis, even though it is a semi special server, it should still be treated the same when keeping it up to date with security fixes and patches.
