P2v over wan link

i have a gig wan link and i am thinking to p2v a box over it... the server itself is more than 500gb.. good idea? any thoughts?

how stable is the link and the latency. if it's nearly LAN like then it is possible to do so. Tools like Platespin Migrate could even do resume, or change block replication from the last P2V.

I used vmware converter in a 100 mbps wan link and works like a thunder!
