Network outage

Hi all,

I have an ESX Cluster running on 10 servers, our network team will be upgrading out switches this weekend, so the ESX cluster will have no network connection for about an hour, will it be fine if I keep the power on on the clusters or I need to power them down via the vphere 4 client console? my vmware guy just quit and I very new to this, so any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Fenton

you can leave them powered on, but if you have HA, I would disable it during the maintenace window. Once network connectivity is restored you can then enable HA.

you have vCenter, correct?  If so, right click on the cluster(s) edit settings--Cluster Features--"Turn on VMware HA".  If you have vCenter and you are using HA, you can  uncheck the box.  This will unconfigure HA on the cluster.  When your network maintenance is done, check the box again to enable HA on the cluster.
