We're planning on putting a new vSphere 5 multi-site cluster and I was wondering if there's any best practice documents already written around this? What are the pros and cons of doing so? How will HA be affected if a site link is lost etc?
Basic plan is to put 3 hosts in one datacenter and 2 in the other. There is a SAN at each site wich will be presenting storage to all of the host in both sites but the plan is to put VMs on the storage that is local to the host they are on. I'm thinking with this DRS will need to be configured to be manual only.
Does anyone have experience with multi-site cluster scenarios?
