Moved vCenter 4.0 Db to new MS SQL server - Event Task Cleanup Job

Last week we moved our vCenter 4.0 Db to a new MS SQL server and instance. I just paused the VMware services, our DBA moved the Db, and I updated the ODBC settings, restarted the services and everything worked FINE.

Today however my DBA is telling me:

Below jobs were scheduled on :

Event Task Cleanup VM_SACWIS_TEST

Past Day stats rollup VM_SACWIS_TEST

Past Month stats rollupVM_SACWIS_TEST

Past Week stats rollup VM_SACWIS_TEST

I requested the method he used to move the DBs and am waiting to hear back from him. I don’t think the UpdateManager DB gave us any grief..

Thanks.

If the old DB server is still available you can move the jobs SQL Agent Jobs, too. If not, you'll probably have to re-create them.

Awseome, by the time I walked over to our DBAs cube I saw your post. VMware DBs were gone but the master was there and he just copied them over.

Thanks again.
