Mouse is slow

Hi all

I am running VM 4.1 and have updated VM tools on all virtuals.

I notice on several of the virtuals (windows server 2003 and one 2008 r2) that the mouse responds slowly.

I have increased video RAM from 4mb to 32 and I have updated the video driver to the SVGA II driver but I still have the same issue

does anyone know what is causing this?

Are you using the "VMware Pointing Device" for you mouse driver?  Check device manager.

Don't use the console, RDP into your VM instead

The mouse is using the correct driver.

It does work fine through RDT... which is ok but I would still like to know why it is so slow through the console?

At lest for Windows 2008, using the WDDM graphics driver should solve the slow mouse issue. See http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1011709
