Metadata download failed

When I try and run VMware update manager update download from scheduled tasks I get a "Metadata download failed." I searched the kb articles, but the suggestions there did not work. I am running vc 2.5 update 4, and my hosts are on 3xi update 4. Has anybody seen this before?

There can me multiple reason for this failure.

For starters, please check that your server is able to talk to internet. Please check the proxy settings in the Update manager. If you can do a test of proxy connection. That might give you some answer. Also, if you can post the lof files from /var/log/esxupdate that will help us to troubleshoot your problem.
