Hi,
We want to install a single vCenter server (6.0 U2a) that will manage ESXi hosts from multiple datacenters around the world.
We will Create a datacenter and cluster for each "physical" datacenter.
My question is, what is the maximum latency allowed between the vCenter and ESXi hosts?
Hi, bandwidth and latency would be depends on your environment size, plugins, tasks, etc.
There are whitepapers that explains about this for your references:
Proven Practice: ROBO - Managing Remote ESX Hosts Over WAN with VirtualCenter
Performance of VMware vCenter 5.0 in Remote Offices and Branch Offices (ROBO)
You may want to tune the ESXi heartbeat on high latency links ESXi host disconnects intermittently from vCenter Server (1005757) | VMware KB
