Management webservices keeps crashing

Fresh install, Windows Server 2008 R2, vCenter 4.1 U1, using bundled SQL 2005 Express (just 3 hosts). VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices crashes every time something tries to access it on port 8443. The only thing that gets written into Windows logs is "The VMware VirtualCenter Management Webservices service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 2877 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service." which is very little to go on. What log files can I look at to actually identify the problem?

did the mssql express service crash too?

No, everything else is working fine, management webservice is the only thing crashing.

We are experiencing the exact same issue.

The only difference being we only have 2 hosts.

I will be watching this to see if anyone can find a resolution.
