Losing SQL Database Connection.

What happens specifically if you lose the SQL Database vCenter is connecting too? Just looking for some details and explanations.

VC service will stop if you loose DB connection.

In VC 2.0 you have to restart manually VC Service.

In VC 2.5 the service (normally) is restarted automatically.

To SQL databases, VirtualCenter is just another client - there is nothing special about it.

If the database server goes away, any decent client will detect this and handle it in some graceful way.

VirtualCenter shuts down gracefully when it detects that the database connection no longer exists.
