our currently setup:
1 vCenter 4.1
2 ESXi 4.1hosts in same datacenter where vCenter is stored
1 ESXi 4.1 host other datacenter connecting over the internet.
My question:
I keep loosing the connection on vCenter to the ESXi host in an other datacenter.
I checked my firewall, open ports etc.
could you tell how i am supose to fix this ?
With kind regards,

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Are you physically dropping the connection - what happens if you run a continuous ping to the remote ESXi host? If not, then it is most likely a DNS issue. How is DNS set up?
Good Luck!
is the line stable in the first place? do you have vmware support? they could analyze the log and tell you the actual root cause ..
thank you for your fast response.
the connection to the vcenter server drops but i'm still able to connect using the vsphere client.
When using the vSphere client, are you connecting to the ESXi host via DNS name or the IP address?
When using the vSphere client, are you connecting to the ESXi host via the vCenter server or a different computer?
If so, are the DNS settings on the two computers different?
when i'm using the vsphere client i connect to the vcenter server and the ESXi host using the static ip addres.
Edit:
these are two different connections. using the vsphere client.
See if kb 1003409 is any help.
I tried all of these options but it doesn't help.
