Long time running (for a hour) "power off" status of VM, than operation time out??

Hello,

we have once a time strange problem. I power off VM, but active task freeze for a hour or two. I can´t do anything - only wait for "operation time out" event. After this VM is down and I can work with it.

This problem appears at various VMs. Do you know anything about this problem? Thank you.

This sounds like a permission problem.

Is this only happening from VirtualCenter or also when you try to power off the VM from the Web-Interface or console?

Try it from the commandline using: /usr/bin/vmware-cmd

This should give more details about the error.

I test it from VC server and directly via VI client to ESX host. I test it from console when the problem appears again.

I will post here the resolution.

I can kill waiting status via console. I use solution from vmware-land.com.
