Limitations (?)

I've created pilot environment and installed ESX4 on the powerfull PC box. There is a SATA disk 1Tb size that I use for installation. After install when you look in the vCenter it shows locaDatastore as 147 G.

I'm trying to understand why only 147G out of 1Tb is allowed to use. Any pointers?

Thank you.

Elijah.,

Is this a Raid drive? Perhaps it has something to do with that setup.

Hard to say without knowing more.

Nope, just a stand alone single hard drive.

How much space did you allocate to the Service Console..? Did you leave it using default settings?

I've found it. It's pretty wierd though. When you set up disks in BIOS as SATA AHCI controller then it is not properly recognized. If it is setup as IDE then it works. Thanks for all your help.

Elijah.
