Lifecycle Manager failing -

Hi Guys and Gals,

Please first of accept my apologies for maybe some missing logs in this post however I am new to working with VMWare Lifecycle Manager and tis many features.

I have two ESXi 6.5 hosts managed by my vCenter 7.0.3 server. I am currently trying to run a remote upgrade form ESXi 6.5 to 7.0.3.

I have imported the 7.0.3 ISO File to the Lifecycle Manager and then created and attached a baseline to the desired host. I then run the "check compliance" however this fails with error "  There are errors during the scan operation. Check the events and log files for details.
". I have checked the logs file "/var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server/vmware-vum-server.log" but I can't see anything obvious within these logs that reports an error. I am going to download the logs so I can attach them to the forum post.

I have checked that port 80 and 443 are open between the ESXi Host and the VC Server which both are and I can confirm communication between them both.

Is this something that anyone has seen in the past and what was the cause? If anyone has any suggestions on any other logs I should be looking at then please could you let me know and I will have a read + post them here.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Regards,

From what I understood you want to upgrade your ESXi hosts which are 6.5 to 7.0.3

I assume there are no network problems. Check if you set the option to ignore hardware errors during the patch. It might help.

In case it will not help too - if I were you - I would set ESXi host into MMode - and attach to console ISO and upgrade ESXi hosts via iLO/iDRAC.

But of course, the option in two clicks via vLCM should be easier and faster
