I need to isolate Update manager so that it will not automatically download patches. The restrictions on the network side should be set, but in some cases may not. I need to know if there is a way to shut it down via virtual center. I know how to setup the workstation or server to download the updates and I also know how to set the proxy. Any thoughts?
Patches are downloaded automatically via a scheduled task. Delete the task in the scheduled task button of vi client, and no more automated downloading. You can always add it in at a later time if requried, or simply modify the scheduled task itself to run as required.
