I was wondering if there is an auto power on when the server has no juice due to a power failure. I don't mean the actual physical vm server but the vm's themselves on the physical server. Power failures always occur when I get to a computer to vpn into the VCenter.
thanks
Gary
Yes, that is possible
- In the vSphere client, select the ESX/ESXi host,
- Go to the configuration tab.
- Select in the Software section, the option Virtual Machine Startup/Shutdown.
- Click on Properties at the right of the screen.
- Enable the option "Allow virtual machines to start and stop automatically with the system"
- Select the VM and move the VM in the correct startup group.
I attach some screenshots.

Wow, thanks. So when I shutdown the VM server I don't have to go to each sever one by one and turn them off? Sweeeeeet.
