Installing vCenter Server outside the cluster network, possible?

    Hello all,

I'm finding a hard decision to make.

I'm running 2 servers with virtual SAN (svsan), and in order to have more security, it would be wise to install vCenter server in a physical host, or in a different server than those used by the SAN servers, because they depend on vcenter. In other words, if the vcenter server's host fail, technically my san would stop?. However the only good server I have available is in the office, and my structure is on the IDC. Does vCenter Server communicates or bridge the traffic between the client and the actual hosts? if so it wouldnt be good to run the vcenter server outside the IDC, as I wouldnt have the needed ammount of bandwidth.

    My setup

    2x dell r610

    double quad xeon

    32gb ram

    4x 300gb disks sas 10k

    ------

using essential plus kit and svsan with clustering functions.

have dedicated nics for iscsi traffic, and have jumbo frames enabled.
