Installing Vcenter On Win2k8 R2 Enterprise in Workstation

Hi Guys,

I am trying to setup Vcenter on my home laptop for study purposes;

I have got ESXi running fine, hence my cpu HW is fine and that works a treat.

Now I have built a Win2k8 64bit R2 Enterprise server, (2GB RAM plenty of disc.)

I have made the server a PDC for AD, however;

When I try and install Vcenter it tells me the product can only be installed on a 64bit operation system???

Please see below screen shot to confirm error and OS settings.

Any help/advice be much appreciated.

Thanks

Scott

Hello.

You cannot install vCenter on a system that is also a DC. That's the problem.

Good Luck!

Yes, you will be fine then. vCenter uses ADAM and it cannot coexist with a DC.
