Importing a purchased trusted certificate

So I have a wildcard certificate that I would like to import into VCenter. All the videos and documentations that I find are for when I generate a CSR from VCenter itself which is not what I want. Here is what I tried doing... I imported the CSR, wild card cert and TCC_Root.cer to the Vcenter using scp. I shelled into vcenter and ran the cert manager. used option 1 then 2. Put in the location of where the 3 files are. I then get an error stating unable to verift the wildcard cert. What am I doing wrong?
