How to monitor vCenter Server

Hello all,

I'm looking for a way, a software, an hint to monitor all events found by vCenter server on my ESX hosts. Something can alert me if a vm is relocated, an HA has failed, an esx is disconnected, and so on....

Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

Stefano

Hi,

In Virtual Center when u click on virtual machine then in the window on the left apear different taps.

One of them is called alarms. Click on it and then on definition. Here u can define different alarms concerning changes of VM.

When any change apears you can be notified by mail or can receive an SNMP trap.

Cheers

Konrad

you can set the alerting on alarms that you create to monitor the events you listed. There are third party products like vFoglight but if you just want to know when events happen I would just configure email alerts on the built-in or custom alarms.
