How to configure External Syslog Server VMware Vcenter 7.0

Hello everyone!

There is a Solarwinds Security Event Manager product, which collects logs for some services and VMware is compatible with this solution.

So to work, I need to configure an external Syslog Server on VMware Vcenter and put the correct information from Solarwinds SEM . How can I configure an external Syslog Server on VMware Vcenter version 7.0.1?

I already seen this article: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.monitoring.doc/GUID-9633A961-A5C3-4... and didn't find the "Syslog" option.

Could you help me?

Thank you

Can you confirm that you are logged in to the VAMI console, i.e. https:/<vcenter-name-or-ip>:5480/ using the root account?

I don't have access to 7.0 Update 1, so the below is a screenshot of how it looks like in Update 3.

If it looks different in your environment, please post a screenshot.

I don't have full access to the vCenter I want, but here is a similar vCenter. This one has version 6.7 but everything is the same:

The vCenter Server appliance has two login pages, one for the vCenter Server Management (the srceenshot you posted), and the VAMI console on port 5480 (the one I posted). In order to configure Syslog, you need to logon to the VAMI console on port 5480.
