How to change default for the "Open Console" in 6.5 webclient?

Hello,

I cannot seem to find a way to change the way how the web client (6.5) opens the remote console by default. It has defaulted for the web browser but I would like to change it to VMRC. When i right click the virtual machine and select "Open Console" it open the RDP to web browser and does not let me choose the VMRC application. Any help?

Thanks in advance!

Juuso

Hi,

Please try the following

1. Ensure VMRC installed.

2. Ensure No pop-up blocks enable in the browser.

3. Try with a different browser (like, IE, Firefox, etc).

1) Select any VM,

2) In Right-side click in "Summary" tab

3) On VM thumbnail click on setting icon(shown in attached screen shot)

You will get options to choose b/w VMRC and Web console.

Hi,

With Firefox mozilla browser you can make it easier.

Thx! How about changing it in vSphere 6.0? The settings icon is not available there.

However, there is link to start (local) Remote Console below the thumbnail, whereas the context menu item of a VM always launches the web console on my box (seems that I accidentally chose this. I want to revert this one back to load the locally installed one).
