Hi All,
I know that you may know how much the license cost for per server or per cpu.
I am interested getting a vcenter license for my home server.
I have a custom build server, intel i7 cpu.
I have ESXi 3.5 installed (free version) and would like a full version of vcenter 2.5.
I am a home user so i only use this server as a test environment, hopefully vmware would have a suitable license for 1 cpu home user.
Best regards,
Steven
Welcome to the VMware Community forums. vCenter is licensed by server, but you would also need a VC Agent license for each host that you connect to (one in your case). The cheapest way to get vCenter would be via the Essentials bundle with is vCenter Foundation and 3 Agent licenses. It's $995 US retail but it has been on sale in the past for $500.
What particular features in vCenter are you looking for?

The management feature that esxi host does not have etc, clone, template, more control over than an actual host. The reason i asking is my work place have deploy esx server i am sure it is enterprise version license. i have use the vcenter management and it is so powerful. definately i am looking forward to learn vmware as much as possible. That why i only interested 1 license for 1 server (sorry if this make a confusion) is there any package that only offered to 1 server license?
Regards,
Steven
