Hosts disappeared from vNetwork Distributed Switch after vCenter Server reboot

Hi!

vCenter Server 4.1.0 on Windows 2008 std x64

ESXi 4.1 from HP

After reboot of vCenter Server i have a problem with vDS and ESXi hosts. The hosts disappeared from vDS configuration and there is the error on "Summary" page of hosts:

The Network Distributed Switch corresponding to the proxy switches 30 63 ......... on the host does not exist in vCenter Server or does not contain this host.

VMs keep working, but i could not add or change network label (port groups of vDS) to networks connection.

Is it normal situation?

I know how to solve it http://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2009/10/vnetwork-distributed-switch-blog-entries-keep-them-coming.ht...

But i want to know how to prevent this situation in the future after i need to reboot vCenter Server?

Any thoughts?

Hi Voker,

Did you find the solution for this issue?  I'm in the same situation right now and troubleshooting it with VM.

Thanks,

Jeff

I'll let you know and please do the same.  As of now, I compeletely took out the distributed switch from our environment.

Thanks,

Jeff
