I like Host Profiles for compliance but, I'd also like to benefit from the application of profiles to automate some processes. Most time consuming for me is adding port groups. We have upwards of 50 per Host. I script much of it but Host Profiles would be ideal.
Is it possible to limit what a Host Profile actually changes. For instance, I don't want it messing with Management or vKernel vSwitches, vNIC discrepencies, etc. (see attached image). Some of that will differ for legitimate reasons. I was hoping just before applying chnages there would be an option to deselect some chnages I don't want but, I don't see that.
I may be missing something but, I also don't see an easy way to exclude pieces when editing a profile. Is there something I'm missing?
