HA won't restart

I'm having problems getting HA to restart. When I attempt to restart HA I get the nebulous error: An error occured during config of the HA Agent on the Host.

So I logon to the host and look for errors in the logs and get nothing...

Any ideas?

Delete the FT_HOSTS file located in /etc and try re-configuring HA.

Also make sure your DNS is ok

DNS is money.... I checked that. I'll try to rock out that file and repost....

Hmmm... no ft_hosts file...

Ran a find -iname ft_hosts and got nothing. That was after I looked in /etc and found nothing.

hmmm.... if you have HA configured originally on the host the FT_HOSTS file should exist here...... on a 3.5 box

/etc/opt/vmware/aam/FT_HOSTS

Hi, had this recently. If I tried the reconfig HA then just got the same old error, in the end I had to disable HA on the cluster wait for the HA reconfig operations to finish and then re-enable HA on the cluster - just make sure you note down your HA settings.

Thanks,

Neil

So, it looks like my firewall config went a little goofy.

I turned off the esxcfg-firewall and HA started right up. So I then re-config-ed the firewall and all is now good. Very strange though...
