HA cluster with a 1 PE 2850 (2 cpu) and 1 PE 2650 (1 cpu)

Does it possible to make a HA/DRS cluster with a PE 2650 that only have 1 cpu?

I am trying to make it but when VC try to "Reconfigure HA host" it fails with "An error occurred during configuration of the HA Agent of the host"

No problems with the PE 2850

Both, PE 2850 and PE 2650 are running ESX 3i

Any idea?

Thanks a lot

For HA problems check the name resolution, use the hosts file on each esx host to ensure you can ping by long and shortname, also ensure that you can ping your vmkernel gateway, check opt/LGTOaam512/log for errors

The number of CPUs should not have an impact on the success or failure of HA at the configuration level. I would look elsewhere for a possible explanation.

There are plenty of posts on the forum around getting HA to work, but I would start with verifying that DNS is configured appropriately and that the hosts (and VirtualCenter) can resolve names correctly - both in short form and FQDN form.
