HA Agent error after Update 2

Hi,

I just noticed that after upgrading to 3.5 Update 2, I get "HA agent on server in cluster has an error" even if the host is in maintenance mode. The host icon in VC is the regular one with a red triangle with an exclamation sign. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know if this is a bug? Does this indicate some other error I should be concerned about?

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Regards,

gb

Thanks for your replies. I think I might have been a bit unclear about the issue. HA works perfectly for me, even after update 2. However, most times after entering maintenance mode the host, or maybe rather VC, at some point will report HA agent error while the host still is in maintenance mode. Hopefully the picture below will give a better understanding (click the picture).

and while in maintenance mode, is there also an error displayed in the cluster section?

Hi,

I have seen the same (or similar) issues with HA. The "fun" part is, that if one of the hosts reports an HA agent error, if you then disable HA alltogether (on the cluster), the host in question will still report the HA error. Weird, I assume it must be a bug somewhere. Other things I have seen, is that a host becomes greyed out (unreachable), but as soon as I turn off HA in the cluster, the host comes back. Sometimes I have to perform a "service mgmt-vmware restart", sometimes I don't and the host pops up right away after disabling HA (even before the removal of the HA agents is done!)

This host that gave these problems was also very slow in installing/removing the HA agent compared to the other host. After I rebooted the "slow" host once more, the problems appeared to have vanished. Weird! Definitely something going wrong with HA (it appears to be virtualcenter related)

A13x,

Hopefully I have uploaded the correct log file. If not, please advise on which log file you would like me to upload.

Depping,

No error displayed in the cluster section.

Erik,

You mention that one host was slow when installing the HA agent. I never timed how fast installing the HA agent was pre update 2, but I feel that all hosts are slower when installing the HA agent after update 2. But they all succeed in installing the HA agent and I'm happy with that.
