Getting "Page Cannot be displayed" message while using Web Access

Hi

I have Console access to a few ESX servers (3.0.2), and can reach till the front page Portal (http:
<Host_IP>).

But when I click the Web access link, I get "Page cannot be displayed" message.

I experience the same while accessing VC server Using Web access. It also allows me to reach till Front Page portal only.

My VMWare admin is also unable to find out the cause.

I am accessing the servers from a remote location (behind Firewall) and unable to connect to the ESX or VC server using VI Client as well.

Please suggest.

Assuming you are using Internet Explorer, try adding the VM website to your "Trust Sites" list.

############### Under no circumstances are you to award me any points. Thanks!!!

Hi

Your advice was perfect. Now I am able to view the login page,but...

When I enter my account name and password, it says access denied.

Could you advice me two things

1. what permission need to be granted to my account for web access to ESX.

2. what permission is required for Web access to VC Server.

You need "Read-Only" rights that goes for both ESX and VC.

"Read-Only" is the lowest rights assigned in VC/ESX and gives access to Web login also.
