File-Based Backup and Restore of vCenter Server Appliance

I tried to do do file based backup in vcsa 6.7 but failed.

Will I able to do file baseed backup to vcsa own datastore? Or I need to backup to remote servers?

Does vcsa 6.7 come with ftp , scp ?

Thanks

you can schedule a backup in the vami. valid targets are ftp(s), http(s) and scp. smb is also supported, but only smb1. for newer smb it works only if you backup to an administrative share. i testet this but it killed me the whole vcsa twice. but ftp and scp runs fine

Do I need to install scp server application like winscp or the vCenter Serfver Appliance already come with it?

you do not need scp-server on the vcsa, only scp client which is present by default. you need a scp-server on another server you wish to backup to.

dont install any third-party-solution on vcsa or you will loose support
