We're using Veeam backup 5.02 version for our backup, and whenever a backup is running for vCenter, then false alerts are being generated, Spoke to veeam support and they think it's a vCenter issue. Any ideas why false alerts being generated during backup of vCenter?
Can you elaborate more on 'false alerts' ? What are they exactly?
Do you mean that you are getting alarms on the VM, or you are getting error messages in VEEAM?
Does it only occur when backing up the vCenter VM?
false alert which says "Cannot connect host " host is not responding.
it only happens when the backup is running on vcenter. it does not happen any other time at all.
Right.
Are your VMs running on shared or local storage, and is veeam writing to local or shared storage?
Has it ever succesfully backed up the vCenter VM? It sounds like VEEAM is doing something to hang up the VM, which in turn is throwing the no-response error.
We have no problems backing up ours. Can you run through the settings you have in VEEAM? Particularly in the advanced settings vSphere & Advanced tabs. My screenshots are attached, let me know if any of your settings on these tabs are different than mine.
