Failed Install of VM Tools on NT4

V2V'd NT4 virtual machine (ESX3.5U4) using vSphere Converter to ESX4iU1.

Started VM = OK.

Tried installing VMtools - "The wizard was interrupted before VMware Tools could be completely installed."

Tried with both AMD PCNET adapter and VMXNET adapters.

Tools vminst.log states - "Error creating dictionary for tools manifest file"

Any help much appreciated.

I have exactly the same log entry on my Windows NT4 SP6a machine.

What support pack did you reapply to fix it?
