Excessive vCenter Events Log Problems after updating to latest HP management VIBS

Hi,

Note really a vcenter problem, more of a HP problem I suspect.

I have recently applied the following HP VIB's to resolve the issue of the filling of the / volume with the file /var/log/hpHelper.log on Gen8 systems:

•hp-smx-provider_500.03.02.10.4-434156

•char-hpilo-500.9.0.0.9-1OEM.500.0.0.434156

•char-hpcru_5.0.3.09-1OEM.500.0.0.434156

•hp-ams-esx-500.9.3.5-02.434156

However, since applying the update, I now get flooded with the following logged in the vCenter Server for the updated servers, under "Tasks and Events" and "Events":

User root@ logged out (login time: , number of API invocations: , user agent: )

User root@127.0.0.1 logged in as

these are masking any genuine event and alerts from the view.

Anyone else having this problem?

Regards,

Rob.

seemingly, this is a bug in HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 5.x Version 1.4.

http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=5177949&spf...

which is a shame, as we were deploying this version to cure a problem with the ESXI ramdisk filling up with /var/log/hpHelper.log, which we upgraded to becuase we had problems on Gen8's not monitoring the storage hardware properly....
