Error while connecting DVD to Virtual Machine when non-default port is used

I have my VMWare vSphere installation on non-default http and ssl ports.

When I try to connect CD/DVD to the virtual machine, I've got an error "A connection to the host could not be established"

How can I resolve this without changing ports?

I believe this only works with the standard default port. Here is another thread that discusses this issue:

I would file a support ticket with VMware to escalate the issue.
