Ah, there's a KB-Article about your problem, saying your vcenter iso or zip may be corrupt. You might want to download it again.

Well, like the error message said, make sure your SQL Server agent is running and start it if necessary.

You can do this in the Windows Services Section or in the MS SQl Server Management Studio ( where you made your first screenshot. Left side, all the Way down "SQL Server-Agent" -> rightclick -> start.

Thanks for the Prompt reply .

Restart of SQL Agent service even SQL has been done Few times along with reboot of Host , but the Error remains . No Change . Compatibility Matrix shows that the SQL version is compatible , so we are at loss to find what is happening .

Strange. I installed vCenter 4.1 yesterday and everything went fine.

How did you create a blank database? And is the DSN pointing to the right databse?

Blank DB was created by SQL Management studio via logging into it with a local admin, windows authentication used,  DSN does point to right DB ,

Hi,

2 thinigs to verify -

1 - your installation media (do an MD5 hash check, or at least re-dowload your media)

2 - Make sure that you have create a 64 bit DSN (although it is not immediately visible - your 64 bit OS has 2 seperate places to view and manage ODBC settings, based on number of bits)

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
