Error: Failed to initialize VMware Certificate Authority, Error: 246

Hello there,

Really new at setting up vCenter here so here's the scenario:

- Requirement is to deploy vCenter on an ESXI host [6.7]
- Downloaded VMware vCenter Server Appliance [2020-10-22 | 7.0U1a]
- From a VM (ubuntu) on ESXI, mounted the iso file
- From vcsa-cli-installer/lin64, copied and modified one of the templates [embedded_vCSA_on_ESXi.json]
- ran this command : vcsa-deploy install --accept-eula --acknowledge-ceip /path/to/modified/json/file
- and got the error in the image attached

what am i missing?

NOTE: made sure NTP server is modified to the same NTP server of ESXI

I'm seeing exactly the same issue. Did you ever manage to figure out a resolution?

For me, I forgot to replace the default text in the JSON file for the SSO user with a real password. Once I replaced it with my password and re-ran the installation it worked. Hope it helps someone else.
