Error: Cannot join domain, failed to open connection to required ports on DC

my vcenter applaince cant connect to my windows 2003 DC, no firewalls are on, the appliance is congigured with DHCP..

any ideas?

hard coded ip address rather then DHCP and the probem was resolved

Had same issue, then changed hostname from localhost to something unique and all worked fine.
